Objective:

All walkways, inner campus pathways, and plaza areas are reserved exclusively for pedestrian traffic. Skateboarders must dismount, and bicycles and scooters must be walked and secured to designated bike racks outside of restricted pathways. Mobility aids are exempt from this policy.

Procedures:

Rules and Regulations:

  • The riding of bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled vehicles is only permitted on designated paths on campus.
  • Bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled vehicles may not be parked or secured to landscaping, stairways, railings, or any other unauthorized areas.
  • All bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled vehicles must be operated at a safe speed, and wheels must remain in contact with the ground at all times.
  • Recreational use of bicycles, scooters, skateboards, and other wheeled vehicles is prohibited on campus grounds.
  • Reckless riding, including but not limited to stunt or trick riding, excessive speed, or any action that endangers the safety of individuals or property, is strictly prohibited.

Definitions:

  • Wheeled Vehicles: Includes bicycles, unicycles, scooters, skateboards, and similar devices without motors.
  • Motorized Wheeled Vehicles: Devices powered partially or entirely by motors.
  • Mobility Aids: Medically necessary devices such as wheelchairs, power scooters, and walkers.
